While the big resorts have some amazing shared facilities, there’s something truly special about having your own secret tropical hideaway.
This is the notion behind the Elysian resort’s 26 private villas in Bali’s Seminyak. Each of these private oases features a walled garden and its own pool, with rooms opening up to the private setting, complete with frangipani trees.
The hotel invites guest to “alter their villas to match their moods”, with sliding doors and windows allowing spaces to be opened up.
Designed by Brian Quirk/Quirk and Associates, the villas are centred around lush communal areas, including a 25-metre pool with waterfall, 4-poster cabana lounges and a Balinese shrine. There’s also a bar and restaurant, a gym, spa and a library.
Just 25 minutes from the airport and minutes to the beach The Elysian is surrounded by stores, cafes, restaurants and bars, which is all the entertainment you’ll need (although each villa is also equipped with flat screen TVs, Bose sound systems and wireless internet).
As the weather down south starts to get a little chilly, we can’t think of anywhere we’d rather be, than forgetting our troubles in a place like this!
Rates are from 300 – 600 USD
