The Luna2 Private Hotel has gained an enormous amount of attention from international Design Hunters™. And it’s no surprise. The hotel’s quirky Richard Neutra-inspired architecture and retro-modernist interiors sit boldly next to the bamboo-lined buildings of Bali.
Fittingly, the hotel is named after the first spacecraft to reach the moon in the 1950s. In an astonishingly unusual stylistic fusion, Luna2 features five retro-style bedroom interiors, matched with various space-age elements such as electric violet walls, Philippe Starck cube loos and fishponds filled with cosmic coloured fish.
Each room is equipped with a set of funky 60’s inspired custom-designed furnishings with a geometric simplicity. The rooms were constructed with an open plan, giving the free-spirited traveller space to breathe and enjoy the view from outside the building’s glass walled verandas.
Outside sits a 20m swimming pool, where a Bisazza-tiled image of Marilyn Monroe looks upward from its depths. The bi-level property’s stone exterior is walled with sliding glass doors.
Whether it be a spaceship, time machine or somewhere in between, Luna2 has made it to the top of our ‘must visit list’. It’s totally out of this world.
