Studio Gallery is coming to Sydney

Australia

Studio Gallery has been working and exhibiting in Melbourne’s art scene since 2013 and in 2019 they’re set to open their first Sydney Gallery in Waterloo.

From emerging artists to established names on the scene, Studio Gallery has championed the exciting and bold in Australia’s artistic community. With two Melbourne galleries, High Street Armadale and an expansive converted warehouse in Cheltenham, Studio Gallery offers one of Melbourne’s largest art exhibition spaces and stockroom. Later this year, Studio Gallery is bringing their curatorial eye to Waterloo, Sydney with another large industrial style gallery to exhibit the latest and finest in the art world.

Paul Snell, Chromogenic Print Facemounted 4.5mm plexiglass ‘Intersect #201803, 2018’ | Caristo Chair and Mohana Side Table –  Available from Sp01 – Space Furniture

Studio Gallery has established itself as a focused, thought-provoking art space exhibiting dynamic works and exhibitions to an ever-increasing collector base. Online, the gallery continues this mission with a stimulating digital presence catering to engaged international collectors.

While established artists exhibit their works in Studio Gallery’s art spaces, the gallery also has a strong commitment and focus on fostering young emerging artists, particularly through an ongoing partnership and sponsorship with BelleArtStart.

Daniel Anderson, Archival inks on linen, ‘Based On A True Story, 2018’

In Melbourne’s Ivanhoe East, Mim Design project – AAP Residence featured works from Studio Gallery. Set amongst towering pin oak and golden elm trees, the new home is reminiscent of iconic brutalist mid-century architecture, with large cantilevered concrete levels and extended eaves. Offsetting this inspired design, all sightlines throughout the home unveil uninterrupted views of the beautiful landscaping and towering trees, creating an elevated tree-house living experience. The final stage of furniture and art selection marries all the form and function of the project together finishing off a beautifully handcrafted home.

Michael Hourigan, Original Artwork ‘Untitled, 2019’

The original artwork in the home ‘Lily Headdress’ original painting from Kerry Armstrong seen at the top of this page, and Michael Hourigan’s Untitled 2019, were sourced from Studio Gallery.

Paul Snell’s Chromogenic Print Intersect #201803 and Daniel Anderson’s archival ink-on-linen piece ‘Based On A True Story’ likewise from Studio Gallery add a human touch to the built environment.

The final pieces of art in the home are Anya Pesce’s hand moulded polymethyl methacrylate objet d’art. Her Gold Composition and Black Embrace serve as eye-catching yet undeniably serene additions to a house already brimming with character.

Studio Gallery Sydney is set to open in late 2019, with a grand opening planned early 2020. Click here for your VIP pass to the grand opening exhibition event.
