The Life Outside Issue

Introducing the Life Outside issue of Habitus magazine. With life increasingly being absorbed into a digital space, there is never a more important moment to hold something tangible. In this context, the power of nature to have a physiological impact on our sense of wellbeing has never been more important. So how can we cultivate the benefits of the our natural environment in the most intimate of places – our homes? This was the question that helped to bring this issue of Habitus to life.

‘The Enchanted Florence’ at David Jones

The theme and title for the 28th Annual David Jones Flower Show for 2013, ‘The Enchanted Florence’ was inspired by the innovative, bold and timeless designs by Florence Broadhurst.

This beautiful interpretation by David Jones explores 16 evocative designs across the window displays and throughout the Elizabeth St store. Each design was transformed into three-dimensional floral artworks giving a new perspective to Florence & her work. Signature Prints, the spiritual home of Florence Broadhurst – worked closely with David Jones when it came to picking the designs, creating fresh colour ways and hand printed all the fabrics used in the exhibition.
