For the planet and the people: the Cosentino story

Cosentino is a brand on a mission – to honour the environment and the human condition through its very designs, manufacturing processes, and corporate values. It’s a direction that is wholly supported by its Australian ambassador, the architect and Grand Designs Australia presenter, Peter Maddison.

When Cosentino launched its newest innovation, HybriQ, it was with the intention to transform its own products and processes, and taking the industry in a direction aligned with its purpose.

That purpose, simply put, is to inspire people through innovative and sustainable spaces.

For architect and television presenter, Peter Maddison, it was Cosentino’s compelling ‘why’ that spoke most strongly to him – and also led to his alignment with Cosentino as its new Australian brand ambassador.

“After careful consideration and research, I found that Cosentino’s core values resonate with mine,” says Maddison. “Their commitment to sustainability, innovation and family business were key values that I respect.

“I love their focus on circular economy – reducing the usage of resources, lowering the carbon footprint.”

The launch of Cosentino’s HybriQ technology firmly cemented its sustainable mission and purpose, while also upending the global industry with an innovation that is indisputably a first-of-its-kind.

HybriQ’s singular role was to make Silestone more sustainable for the industry, while maintaining the product’s properties unaltered. Now, Silestone with HybriQ technology delivers a mix of minerals and recycled materials. It is manufactured using a sustainable production process powered by reused water and renewable electrical energy. And ultimately, it reduces the amount of crystalline silica: so there is less silica which, as Maddison puts it, “is better for workers”.

Considering the company has over 5000 employees globally, this particular aspect is incredibly important to Cosentino and its core values.

In this exclusive video interview with Maddison we hear about why he loves working with Cosentino; he introduces us to the super-powered Silestone with HybriQ technology; and also talks us through what is surely the world’s most versatile, durable, exterior-friendly and claddable material: Dekton.

Among Dekton’s many attributes are its resistance to scratching, staining, UV rays, heat and thermal shock. The range is also available in four-millimetre, eight-millimetre, 12-millimetre, and 20-millimetre thickness options, globally.

Discover all this and more with in this special video interview, presented by Habitus with Cosentino.
