As a creative, Christopher Boots excels through his disparate lighting collections and range of highly desirable objects. His products are refined art forms rather than ubiquitous utilities and his love of quartz crystal is the continuum throughout his work, that glitters for all to see.
With the launch of THEIA, this latest collection comprising pendant, sconce and oyster light, Boots has conceived a most beautiful design that is bound to become a future antique and an object to be treasured.

THEIA is a grand domed form inspired by the ancient, hypothesised planet Theia and its Greek namesake, the goddess of divine light. The design intertwines these astronomical and mythological narratives to create an heirloom lighting piece that simply put, radiates light and celestial warmth.
The grand hemispherical form of THEIA as a pendant light is externally feathered in clear natural quartz crystals and rests beneath a translucent diffuser and metal top plate. The THEIA sconce and oyster light continue the series’ domed and luminescent language with clear quartz crystals anchored by a central elegant, stepped brass fixing.

“We pair aesthetics with practicality to create lighting sculptures with lasting impact. Each piece is conceived as a collectible work of functional art that considers the true, long-term impact of design and inspires future generations to ask, ‘What were they thinking? This is incredible!’” says Boots.
As with all of Boot’s objects, it takes time and skill to achieve the perfect result and THEIA is no exception. Each piece is made by hand and to order, with the largest pendant in the THEIA range taking approximately six months to complete. It’s not only an exceptional design but each light is crafted with passion that balances precision with aesthetics.

THEIA embodies Christopher Boots’ signature approach to lighting, merging function and artistry to serve a dual purpose. “By day, THEIA stands as a sculptural centrepiece, its textured surface interacting with natural light to create dynamic reflections. At night, the piece transforms, casting a warm, ambient glow,” explains Boots.
Christoper Boots’ studio was established in Melbourne on 11-11-11, and over the last 14 years the practice continues to explore the relationship between architecture, symbology and geometry found in nature. Each design is a contemporary interpretation of pattern, structure and symmetry that translates to traditional elements of form, proportion and scale. Boots’ marries traditional and cutting-edge materials and techniques to create objects that enhance architecture yet are distinctive and stand alone as gallery pieces.

Christopher Boots’ products, along with the THEIA collection, are available through the studio in Melbourne and select galleries in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Australasia.
Christopher Boots’ CRUX Collection is shortlisted in The Object category of the 2025 INDE.Awards.
