A long lunch at Jardan offered an appropriately relaxed introduction to Shoreline, the Australian furniture brand’s new outdoor collection. Curated by chef and food stylist Sian Redgrave, the gathering brought the collection into the kind of setting it was designed for: generous meals and good conversation.
Shoreline marks an expansion of Jardan’s familiar language of colour, softness and materiality into outdoor furniture, spanning sofas, lounge chairs, dining pieces, sunloungers and occasional furniture. Inspired by the Australian shoreline and the ease of summer outdoors, the collection is intended to move between long lunches, poolside afternoons and open-air entertaining.
Rather than treating outdoor furniture as a tougher, more utilitarian counterpart to what belongs inside, Shoreline retains much of the comfort and personality associated with Jardan’s interiors. The forms are soft, colour is prominent and materials have been selected as much for their tactile qualities as their ability to withstand the elements.
“We didn’t want Shoreline to simply feel like an outdoor version of an indoor collection,” explains Jardan Creative Director Renée Garnham. “The challenge was retaining the softness, colour and character people associate with Jardan, while creating pieces that genuinely belong outside.”
Spotted gum is one of the threads running through the collection, appearing in both Natural and Amber oil finishes and bringing warmth to pieces including the Mimi Sofa and Cecil Sunlounger. Elsewhere, powder-coated aluminium, woven rope, porcelain, outdoor webbing and hand-trowelled microcement broaden the palette, with Terra and Crema among the recurring colours.
Among the more substantial additions is Cosmo, Jardan’s most expansive outdoor modular sofa collection to date. Its 39 individual elements allow it to move between compact arrangements and considerably larger outdoor settings. Mimi takes a softer approach, combining gathered upholstery with a spotted gum frame and striped webbing, while Cecil brings the same timber and webbing combination to a sunlounger with optional wheels and side table.

The Clem table introduces another material note, with hand-trowelled microcement tops in Rosso and Pumice alongside a spotted gum plank option. Luma combines powder-coated aluminium and woven rope, while the broader Nilo family extends across chairs, stools, tables, benches and a sunlounger, allowing the collection to move between residential and hospitality settings.
The spirit of summer is already in the air, with Redgrave’s long lunch giving Shoreline a natural setting for its debut. Gathered around the table, the collection felt at home among good food and conversation, reflecting the easy pace of outdoor living – long lunches, afternoons by the pool and gatherings that linger into the evening.
For Jardan, it represents a broader outdoor offering while remaining recognisably connected to the brand’s approach to Australian living. Shoreline launches this month across Jardan showrooms.
