Just as the Australian pantry has evolved to embrace a myriad of international flavours and fragrances, cooking styles have also progressed to incorporate a wide range of techniques and equipment types. Steam ovens, warming drawers and climate-controlled inbuilt wine refrigeration are among the innovations putting restaurant-calibre capability inside our homes.
To help architects, interior designers and homeowners picture the possibilities offered by state-of-the-art equipment, Sub-Zero and Wolf have collaborated with exceptional Australian designers to curate exceptional showrooms in Sydney and Melbourne. The venues provide an experiential journey which integrates Sub-Zero’s range of unique refrigeration solutions and Wolf’s exceptional indoor and outdoor cooking appliances and accessories.
This is the kitchen elevated to a higher standard of functionality, performance, aesthetics and luxury.
Located in Bank Place in the heart of the CBD, the Melbourne showroom has just been given a superb revitalisation through the expert design talents of Multi-disciplinary Interior Design Studio, Mim Design.

Mim Design Founder and Principal, Miriam Fanning, said her studio and the brands Sub-Zero and Wolf have always been closely aligned.
“Having designed the space a decade earlier, our team’s deep understanding and appreciation of both the product and showroom experience informed the new refurbishment,” Fanning explains.
“A primary focus was updating the spatial plan of the showroom by establishing zones. Elevated through feature-stone surfaces, each product line has its own hero-moment, directing the flow of the space for the team and clients.”
The journey begins with an uplifted street presence that amplifies the brand. A stylistic show kitchen enveloped by Breccia Pernice immediately captivates the imagination through the products being displayed within the frontage.
This “shop-front” also evokes a sense of enthusiasm, inviting customers and future clients inside with approachable artistic flair.

Fanning explains the new layout is an “active space” that can accommodate different occasions including cooking demonstrations, technical workshops and industry events and parties.
“To honour the versatility of the appliances, our concept veered away from previous expectations of ‘themed kitchens’, instead paying tribute to the brand holistically by exhibiting its distinguished silhouettes and robust materials.”
The “strong, authentic and bold” design celebrates the brands and reflects the enduring products.
These include Sub-Zero’s range of luxury refrigeration and freezer solutions including full-size, under counter, cabinet-style and wine storage. Known for their superb quality, precision engineering and user-friendly features, Sub-Zero products can harmonise with a wide range of interior aesthetics and household lifestyles.
Wolf brings the heat, with luxury cooking ranges, ovens, cooktops, outdoor BBQs and grills, and speciality appliances including combination steam, combination microwave and a high-powered wok burner. Technology options include convention, induction and gas, all engineered for exceptional performance and precision control.

“The showroom highlights cooking and entertaining moments in a genuine and adaptable environment, not dissimilar to a residential kitchen space,” Fanning says.
“The project philosophy reinforced the core Sub-Zero and Wolf pillars, drawing on the idea of a mixing bowl combining hot – ovens and cooktops – and cold – refrigeration and freezers, through the introduction of colour and textures, while respecting the heritage motifs of the Bank Place building.”
In Sydney, the showroom designed by Adele Bates also provides a destination that elevates the sense of what a kitchen can become. The interactive space showcases the luxury positioning and technical excellence of the brands and provides opportunities for customers and potential clients to become inspired through demonstrations by leading chefs.
At both Sydney and Melbourne showrooms, the experience of discovery can be entirely personalised, with consultants available to support you in testing and exploring the array of possibilities to discover the ideal solution for your home or project.
