Winnings brings Fisher & Paykel’s integrated design philosophy elegantly to Australia.

Leading the way in contemporary showroom experience, Winnings presents as a design laboratory where architecture, materiality and technology converge to demonstrate not only what we buy, but how we choose to live. It is this philosophy that underpins the latest evolution of Winnings’ flagship Redfern showroom, where its collaboration with Fisher & Paykel reimagines the relationship between premium appliances and the contemporary Australian home.

The installation explores the increasingly seamless dialogue between architecture, interiors and domestic technology. At its heart is Fisher & Paykel’s Minimal Style, a design philosophy founded on restraint, material honesty and quiet integration. Rather than demanding attention, the appliances are conceived as architectural elements, allowing craftsmanship, materials and spatial composition to take precedence.

Bringing together an extensive selection from the brand’s Integrated Collection, the permanent installation demonstrates how refrigeration, cooking and laundry appliances can disappear into carefully resolved joinery. The result is a home environment where function is embedded within architecture rather than imposed upon it.

The project also marks the Australian interpretation of Fisher & Paykel’s global Social Kitchen philosophy, positioning the kitchen as the emotional centre of the home—a place for gathering, conversation and shared rituals. It also translates the ideas behind Nature – Ritual, the brand’s immersive exhibition presented during Milan Design Week’s EuroCucina. Originally conceived by New Zealand’s Alt Group in collaboration with Italian design studio Calvi Brambilla and Partners, the exhibition explored the rituals of everyday life through architecture, landscape and sensory experience. At Redfern, those concepts have been reimagined as a permanent retail environment, allowing visitors to experience them beyond the exhibition circuit.

Throughout the showroom, visitors move through a sequence of highly resolved residential settings that reflect the rhythms of contemporary living. A sculptural cooking tower anchors the space, demonstrating how integrated cooking and refrigeration can form part of a unified architectural composition. Nearby, a refined wet bar responds to the growing culture of entertaining at home, while an elegantly detailed fabric care wardrobe elevates the traditionally utilitarian laundry into a considered extension of the interior.

Materiality plays a defining role in shaping the experience. Native spotted gum veneer introduces warmth and richness, while bush-hammered Australian sandstone grounds the installation in a distinctly local character. Together, these materials create a tactile dialogue between the precision of contemporary appliance design and the textures of the Australian landscape, ensuring the spaces feel unmistakably residential rather than retail.

Perhaps the installation’s greatest achievement lies in what it chooses not to emphasise. The focus rests on the architectural whole—the way appliances quietly disappear into cabinetry, materials flow uninterrupted across surfaces, and carefully orchestrated details contribute to a calm, cohesive environment. It reflects a broader movement in residential design, where luxury is increasingly defined not by visual excess but by clarity, longevity and thoughtful restraint.

For architects, interior designers and homeowners alike, the showroom offers more than inspiration. By bringing together international design thinking with distinctly Australian materials and craftsmanship, Winnings has created a destination that speaks to the future of the home—one where architecture leads, technology supports and all elements work in harmony.
