What’s the best way to get a sense of the design pulse of a place? Full immersion! Saturday Indesign Singapore will offer just that on 12 October with the leading lights of Singapore’s design industry.

Indesign Media has been running the event in Singapore since 2011, and this year is set to impress with a line up of 25 top exhibitors in two central locations, a long list of activities and networking opportunities, and of course the return of Saturday Indesign Singapore’s much-loved Design Conversations.

Register now and win!

There are plenty of prizes to be won – S$10,000 in total – alongside the win that comes from rubbing shoulders with Singapore’s design crowd. This is your last chance to enter the draw for our early registration prize. Register to attend before 11:59pm (Singapore time) on Friday 4 October, and attend on 12 October, and you could win an ergonomic ‘IN’ task chair from Wilkhahn worth S$1,300! Winner must be based in Singapore.

25 product exhibitors are ready to dazzle on 12 October. At the The Tan Boon Liat Building, 15 showrooms will be opening their doors and offering special installations, workshops and activities for Saturday Indesign. Look for the Saturday Indesign balloons outside participating showrooms.

A short bus ride or riverside-walk away at 72-13 Theatreworks (Mohamed Sultan Road), 10 brands will put on their best displays with collaboratively designed installations, talks and happy hours. Get to know all the exhibitors here.

The six Design Conversations panel discussions will give you access to thought leaders from Singapore’s workplace, retail, residential and hospitality sectors – and more. Throughout the day, these great minds will be delving into some of the most pressing challenges faced by the industry today. Here’s a taste of the topics at hand.

What Does Wellness Look Like In The Workplace?

The workplace session ‘New Pathways To Wellness At Work’ will discuss how wellness has been targeted at two offices in Singapore’s new Paya Lebar Quarter development: Lendlease’s new csuites coworking prototype designed by HASSELL, and the CBRE office designed by Siren Design.

Who’s Really Driving Customer Experience?

Is retail your thing? Asia’s designers sure know a thing or two about it. The session ‘Today’s Reatil Dynamics: Who’s Driving Consumer Experience’ will tap into the insights of retail design specialists and experience strategists to unearth how retail is shifting in this dynamic part of the world.

How Might We… Implement Innovative Strategies For High-Density Living?

The residential interior is the playing field for many designers and architects in Sinagpore, and the session ‘Innovative Strategies For HDB and Apartment Living’ will explore the path to fresh living environs in both public and private apartments.

Who Are The Shakers And Makers Turning Challenge Into Opportunity?

It’s been a tough business environment in Singapore in recent years, especially for designers, so our session ‘Designpreneurship In A Challenging Market’ will bring together three early-to-mid career designers and architects who are innovating with their practice models and business approaches.

How Might We… Design For Hospitality In The Climate-Change Era?

Making conscious-slash-sustainable hospitality environments is a challenge anywhere – but especially in the tropics. Our session ‘Tourist Or Global Citizen? Designing Hospitality In The Climate-Change Era’ will cut to the chase on what designers and architects (not just operators) can do to create the conditions for conscious, low-impact hospitality experiences.

Are Designers Lazy When It Comes To Sustainability?

The Saturday Indesign Singapore Debate returns in 2019! The original debate team from 2017 is back on board, this time tackling the proposition that ‘Designers Are Lazy When It Comes To Sustainability’. Commentated by Sarah Ichioka – Director, Desire Lines, and Curator, International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam 2020 –  excpect nothing less than deep insight delivered with hilarity and good friendly jibes!

“To have Indesign curate an event and have the entire community come down and engage in discourse and conversations about design – and of course the debate! – that’s a red-letter calendar event that everyone can look forward to. And I imagine it will only keep growing.” – Tan Szue Hann (MINIWIZ Singapore), Saturday Indesign Ambassador

Seats have been filling fast for these free sessions, but there’ll be standing room available. Register now to RSVP!
